MUSEUM NEWS 2020

SADLY THE DECISION WAS MADE EARLIER THIS YEAR TO POSTPONE MUSEUM OPENING.

WE HAVE NOW DECIDED TO OPEN BY APPOINTMENT FROM 14th JUNE 2021

This years Exhibition returns to a subject we began to research for our first pop up Museum, where we looked at examples of Blanket weaving and Cloth production from both the small rural mills and the larger mills of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The following year we started a mapping project where we began to gather information about the individual mills in a quest to find out more about the smaller rural mills which fulfilled the needs of their own communities, as well as those that wove on a larger  commercial scale.

We will be opening in May with many new pieces to add to the collection, throughout the summer we will be continuing to work on the mapping project in preparation for our August Festival Exhibition.
